Business Moves Forward

March 6, 2012

Precision Solutions is pleased to report good progress during 2011, with many of its business areas showing strong performances. There were many good external orders for our Diamond Machining services, both from long-established and new customers. The Radiation Effects Group was especially busy, successfully completing a major project for radiation hardness testing of components for a communications satellite programme and also overseeing the successful completion of the 3 year, multi-company SEEDER (Single Event Effects Design for Electronics Reliability) project, which was part funded by the UK Government’s Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS). There was solid progress on our Enhanced Vision Systems for use in Low Visibility Landing (LVL) and Degraded Visibility Environments (DVE), with successful trials being completed and further trials being commissioned for 2012. Head of Precision Solutions, Robin Addison commented: “Business levels have been very encouraging against the generally poor economic backdrop. Business for our Environmental and EMC testing facilities has continued steadily and our sales of INTERFIRE II infrared interferometers have been particularly strong in China. On top of that, we have recorded a significant order for our low power NED radiation event detectors.”
